Group form
The Group form enables you to add or edit a group to assist in delivering containers using a pre-defined set of trucking companies that are allowed to pick up any container that is assigned to the group. You can either use this form to manually add groups for your site or use the Actions Copy Reference Set option to copy groups defined in an existing entity set.
To allow a group of trucking companies to pick up certain import containers:
Use this form to create a group that includes all the trucking companies that can pick up the container.
Assign the Group to the unit.
Use the Business Tasks form (on page 1) to include the RejectTruckingCompanyNotAssignedForPickup (on page 1) business task in your gate configuration for deliver gate transaction types.
To add or edit a group:
In the Group ID field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies a group of containers.
For example, you can create a group with the Group ID HOT for a group of import containers that you want to discharge from a vessel and immediately load on a specific train service.
You can specify the group ID in the gate forms if you want to deliver a container from a specific group only. For more information on configuring the gate forms, see Tran Type form (on page 1).
In the Group Description field, enter a short description for the group.
Optionally, in the Trucking Companies field, include or exclude the trucking companies from the selected group.
If you choose value(s) for Trucking Companies, when you assign a unit to a group, you can deliver the container only to a trucker with a trucking company listed in the group.
Specify any optional information, such as the delivery start and end time.
Click Save.
